Travel makes me happy. It helps me find my inner peace, which we all need from time to time. So does sitting on a beach, looking out over the stunning Caribbean, counting all the colors of blue, and all my blessings. Here are some travel tips to find your inner peace.
Life is a Zoo! We all need to be reintroduced to our inner peace. It’s what keeps us from strangling the boss! One of the best ways is through traveling. Not only does it exposes you to new cultures and cuisines, but it takes you out the craziness of your normal life. It makes you right with the world again.
Recently I traveled to Cozumel and spent time at my favorite resort. It is a gorgeous place that offers peace and quiet, or busy and lively, your choice. The former does it for me. I bob in the water, big hat and sunglasses on, as far out as I can get without them sending a rescue team after me. I am quite the site.
I said I was quite the sight! Since I don’t use toxic sunscreens, I cover up after I get all the sun I want. I almost blend in! Ok, maybe not.
Vacations give us a break from the norm. And I love my normal life, but everyone needs a change of scenery to clear your mental clutter, and be reminded of your place in the Universe. Regaining your balance is the key, and the ocean and beach do that for me. The sound of the water, the warmth of the sun, the condensation dripping from my adult beverage, helps me find my inner peace. It makes me happy.
Travel Tip #1:
- Let yourself do nothing: lie on the beach, watch the waves, the clouds, the boats, the sunset.
- Listen to the water, the wind, the birds.
- Purge the clutter from your mind.
- Savor your favorite adult beverage.
- Enjoy the local cuisine.
Let yourself go into a restful state. Easier said than done I know, but you have to take control and stop listening to all of that “noise” in your mind. It may take a few days, but if you just relax, it will come. Then creative thinking, problem solving and a sense of calmness will wash over you.
Travel Tip #2:
- Don’t plan every moment.
- Don’t feel obligated to be as busy on our break as you are in your life.
- Give yourself permission to use your vacation to “vacate” your norm.
- Give yourself time to heal, rest and regroup.
The result will be thinking more clearly, addressing life with more energy and vigor, and being present in each and every moment. You will have a clean slate again
Never underestimate the benefits of traveling, the power of inner peace, and personal balance. Use these travel tips to find your inner peace and the clarity that comes with calmness. Not to mention a suntan!
Until next time,
Happy Traveling!
